Free Holiday Laser Light Shows, Text-To-Make-It-Snow Feature, Visits with Santa and More to Be Held in Downtown Galveston’s Saengerfest Park Nov. 24-Dec. 31
Galveston Island, TEXAS (November 21, 2012) – The newest event in Galveston’s holiday lineup – Lasers, Lights & Magic in the Park – will kick off this Saturday, transforming the island’s historic downtown into a holiday spectacle with free nightly laser light shows, music and even a text-to-make-it-snow feature.
The event, which will be held in Galveston’s Saengerfest Park, will kick off Nov. 24 and run through Dec. 31. Each night, twinkle lights synchronized to music will decorate the park before 15-minute holiday-themed laser shows take place at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. To add to the fun, visitors can send text messages to make it snow at the park.
As a special treat, The Woodlands Concert Band will perform from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 24 to celebrate the kickoff of the
event.
On Saturdays and Sundays, guests to Saengerfest Park can also take photos with Santa from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. during Santa on the Strand. Santa on the Strand will take place every weekend Nov. 24 – Dec. 31 except the weekend of Dickens on the Strand, Dec. 1-2.
Saengerfest Park is located at 2302 Strand Street in downtown Galveston. Lasers, Lights & Magic in the Park and Santa on the Strand are free events open to the public.
