A few more clouds and a slight chance of showers possible this weekend. The Tropical Depression #6 forms in north Atlantic.

Current Outlook

While weather outlook continues to sound like a broken record, we may see a few more clouds and a few isolated showers this weekend. A large and persistent upper-level high ridge continues to dominate much of the Southwest. This is keeping hot, mostly sunny weather over much of Texas. However, a mid-level disturbance over southwest Texas may drift east this weekend, bringing us a few more clouds and a slight chance of rain. This morning’s surface weather map shows, a weak cool front over north Texas extending from a low in the Panhandle, low pressure over west Texas, another stationary front from Arkansas east to the Carolinas and a weak front moving southeast through the Rockies. At the upper-levels, high pressure is centered over deep south Texas while a broad trough dips south over the East.

Looking ahead, a weak mid-level disturbance may drift east over Texas and increase shower activity a little this weekend. Looking further ahead, the high should restrengthen by early next week, keeping sunny, hot weather in control a while longer.
