Sunny, cool conditions to give way to increasing clouds and milder temperatures by late Sunday

strong>Current Outlook–(Tropical Outlook Below)

High pressure, seasonally cool temperatures and sunny skies will hang around for one more day, before southerly winds and milder conditions return. Sunny to partly cloudy skies will give way to mostly cloudy weather by Sunday and enough moisture may return to allow for a few light showers by late Sunday. Monday will see even better rain chances.

This morning’s weather map shows high pressure sitting over southeast Texas, a cold front extending from Colorado across the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma to a low in Missouri. A warm front extends across the eastern Plains. Another cold front is approaching the Pacific Northwest. The upper-level map shows a low pressure trough dipping south through the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley with a high pressure ridge over the northern Rockies. A broad upper-level low continues to spin the Pacific west of California.

Looking ahead, the high pressure over Texas will move east over the next couple of days. This will allow low-level winds to turn around to the south by late Saturday, bringing milder conditions back to southeast Texas. The trough over the West may deepen some and gradually move east while another cold front pushes into Texas by the middle of next week. This will bring a chance of rain back to the area on Monday and Tuesday, followed by clearing and cooler weather.
