Sunny, cool weather in the picture as we finish the week. Increasing clouds and milder conditions likely this weekend.

Current Outlook–Tropical Outlook Below

Cool, breezy sunny conditions will prevail through tomorrow as high pressure builds in behind a cold front. A quick warm-up is on tap for this weekend as southerly winds return ahead of the next system. This morning’s weather map shows a cold front extending from the central Gulf of Mexico northeast to a low over South Carolina. High pressure extends east from Nevada to the Texas/Oklahoma border. The upper-level map shows a broad low pressure trough moving east towards the Mississippi Valley, with high pressure over Florida and a deep low developing off the coast of British Columbia..

Looking ahead, the surface high pressure ridge over Texas and Oklahoma will move to the East Coast, while low pressure develops over the Great Basin area. At the upper-levels, a large high pressure ridge will build over the Gulf of Mexico, while an upper-level low will develop along the West Coast and move northeast towards the Plains. This will result in a quick return of southerly winds to the area over the weekend and may bring a few showers to our area from Sunday through the middle of next week. A cold front should reach the area late Tuesday, bringing a chance of thundershowers, followed by cooler temperatures
