Current Outlook(Tropical Outlook Below)
A large upper-high combined with drier air creeping in from the north will continue to bring sunny and very hot conditions to southeast Texas through tomorrow. Cooler and slightly wetter conditions are in the picture for later this week. This morning’s weather map shows a weak front extending from southeast of New Orleans back northeast to the East Coast. Another weak front sits over eastern Colorado to southern Kansas. High pressure is parked over western Colorado. The upper-level map shows a massive high near El Paso and a deep trough over the eastern U.S.
Looking ahead, the upper-high will weaken and shift northeast to Missouri and Arkansas. This combined with a mid and upper-low expected to track west across the Gulf should lead to increased clouds, better rain chances and lower temperatures by later part of this coming week. Some models develop the low in the Gulf to a tropical depression or tropical storm by Saturday. A potent cool front should push into Texas and may even make into the area by the early to middle part of next week.
