Current Outlook
Warmer temperatures are in the picture for southeast Texas as we move through the weekend. With an upper-level zonal flow (west to east) developing over the southern half of the country and high pressure over the Gulf, cool fronts will stay well to our north and southerly winds will pump warmer air back into our area. Overall, weather across the country is fairly placid today with rain along the east coast in conjunction with an upper-low over Maine and a eastward moving trough over the Ohio Valley. Meanwhile, a weak cool front is slowly moving southeast over the northern Rockies and the Dakotas. With this pattern in place, partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures will prevail in Galveston over the coming 2-5 days with little to no hope of rain. Looking further down the road, a front may reach the area late next week, giving us a slight chance of rain and some slightly cooler and drier weather for next weekend. We shall see!
